          Terms & Conditions

          Delivery:

          • Delivery of products takes usually between 2 to 8 weeks, though some speciality products might take longer.

          • Generally where an order contains more that one item, all items will be delivered at the same time once all items are available.

          • Delivery can only be made to a central England address.

          • Delivery charges are as follows:

            --- For total purchase value between £0 & £100, delivery charge is £10

            --- For total purchase value between £100.99 & £200, delivery charge is £20

            --- For total purchase value between £200.99 & £500, delivery charge is £40

            --- For total purchase value between £500.99 & £999.99, delivery charge is £70

            --- For total purchase value between £1000 & £4999.99, delivery charge is £75

            --- For total purchase value including & exceeding £5000, delivery is free.




          • We might be able to deliver to other places such as Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, etc. but such deliveries if at all possible would be subject to delivery surcharges. Please contact us for delivery exquiries via email or telephone.

          • All delivery lead times shown on this web site are estimated and cover working days only.

          • You, the Buyer, will be contacted by telephone and email to confirm your delivery date, once a delivery date has been agreed you must be present on this date to take delivery. If for any reason you become unavailable to take delivery please contact our customer service department as soon as possible, in any case no later than 24 hours in advance, other wise we reserve the right to levy a second delivery charge to cover the cost of the failed delivery.

          • Please ensure that the item(s) you are purchasing would fit through your doors and passage-ways and other access points to reach the room of your requirement.

          • Drivers are often alone, and for heavier items will need some assistance to unload the goods.

          • Our delivery personnel will deliver to the first outer door/gate of the specified address, please make sure you have someone to arrange for the furniture to be taken inside your house as our carriers would not be able to do so. This policy is because we use an external carrier service in order to keep your delivery costs at the lowest. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to you, but please be assured that considering the high quality and low prices of our products, any extra effort on your part would be well worth it.

          • Once delivery has been made to your door you will be responsible for the items.

          • You must inspect your goods and make a note on the delivery document if there are any shortages or damages.

          • If you have not received all of your order or an item is damaged and have noted this on the delivery document it is then your responsibility to inform us within 7 days for shortages or 48 hours for damages, from delivery.

          • We may not be able to accept responsibility for goods reported as missing or damaged if the delivery document has been signed by yourself and no note has been made.

          • A replacement item would normally take as long to deliver as a new order.

          • Please note that some products do require some assembly, but such products would have detailed assembly instructions with them. Do however bear in mind that given our vast experience in the furniture retail trade and having dealt with customers first hand, we have noticed that most customers are a bit vary about off-the-rack self-assembly flat-pack furniture. This is exactly why we source furniture that has been made considering the end customer in mind, which makes for quick, easy assembly bringing about an optimised balance between ease of assembly, quality and price.

          • In the event that self-assembly is just not for you there is always the option of looking up your local furniture assembler services for this.

          • You may cancel your order at any time between the placement of the order and 7 days from the day after delivery.

          • Such products would have to be returned to us at your (Customer's expense) within 7 days of delivery to you..

          • Should you want us to collect the goods, you must contact our customer service department within 7 days of delivery to arrange collection. This collection will be at your expense.

          • Any money which you have paid will be refunded within 30 days.

          • Do please note that as delivery of goods is a separate service from the products, any charges for delivered or dispatched items would not be refunded and would be deducted from the refund amount.

          • We must receive your goods in as new condition with all accessories and components and with original packaging.

          • A full refund of the cost of the goods (less delivery charges) is wholly conditional upon the above conditions being met and will only be authorised after a full inspection of the goods by ourselves.

          • Any items returned that do not conform to these conditions will be subject to a surcharge or will be retuned to you at your expense.

          • We will endeavour to meet any date agreed for delivery, however we will not accept liability for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivery of the goods.


          Instructions:

          • Do please place an order only if you are serious about making the requisite payment. Your order would be considered a binding contract hence, do only place an order if you genuinely intend to honour it.

          • Payment must be received within 7 days of order placement. Failure to do so or to contact us within 7 days may result in the cancellation of the said order. If paying by cheque/postal order/banker's draft, the item will be held until the payment is cleared as aforementioned. Postage prices are for Mainland UK deliveries only. Any extra postage charges, if at all applicable, for other parts of the UK will be conveyed to the Buyer before finalising the order. Once the Buyer has agreed to the extra charges, the extra payment will be taken in a mutually agreed manner and the order will be finalised. Please rest assured that all postage and handling costs have been kept at the minimum possible to be fair to our valued customers.

          • At any given time prior to order finalisation by the Buyer, the Buyer may cancel the order. Our business practices and policies are aimed at providing a fair and reassuring environment for our customers to buy in. Any additional relevant information can and will be provided on request.

          • All prices quoted are in pounds sterling and include VAT but exclude delivery and/or installation charges. Delivery charges will be shown clearly in the shopping basket prior to your submitting your order.

          • Prices, offers and products are subject to availability. If an item becomes unavailable we will offer an alternative or full refund.

          • Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained within this site, occasionally an error could occur. If an error is discovered in the price or description of an item you have ordered, you will be contacted immediately and given the choice of weather to continue or cancel your order.

          • Payment is due on submitting your order.


          Title and Risks:

          • Title of the product will pass to you once you have received the goods and we have received full and cleared payment.

           

          Product Information:

          • All product information which includes images and dimensions have been obtained by the product manufacturers.

          • We make every effort to describe the products offered for sale as accurately as possible. However, we reserve the right to add, remove or amend products without notice.

          • Dimensions where given, are supplied by the manufacturers and displayed by us in good faith. They should be regarded as being for guidance only.

          • We will supply the product as supplied to us by the manufacturer.

          • The quantity and description of the products shall be as set out in the order confirmation.

          • We may make changes in the specification of the products which do not materially affect their quantity or performance required to conform with any applicable statutory requirements where the products are supplied to our specifications.

          • Photographs are for illustrative purposes only, and may not exactly match the product itself.

          • Please be aware that all furniture has variants of colour and we therefore cannot guarantee exact colour matches. Colour variation can also occur due to the different properties of computer display equipment being used to view the product.

          • Product images might include some accessories. These accessories are not part of the product sale unless specifically mentioned. For example, bed images might have mattresses shown in them. These mattresses are not part of the sale of the bed unless specifically mentioned. Such mattresses may be purchased separately if available.


          Warranties and Liability:

          • Most goods supplied by Furniture Planet come with a manufacturer's warranty of 12 months.

          • We shall provide the Buyer with any information as is required to claim under the manufacturer's warranties. In the event of a claim, the Buyer shall first contact our customer service department.

          • Furniture Planet does not provide any warranty cover against defects in its own right.

          • Except where the Buyer acts as a consumer all other warranties, conditions and terms relating to fitness for purpose, satisfactory quality or conditions of the products whether implied by statute or common law or otherwise are excluded to the fullest extent of the law.

          • Insofar as is permitted by law, our only liability to you under these terms and conditions will be, at our sole discretion, to make good any shortage or non-delivery, to replace or repair any goods which are received by you in a damaged or defective state or to refund to you any sums actually paid by you for the goods in question. We will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem you notify to us and will have no liability to you for any failure or delay in delivering goods or any damage or defect in goods delivered which is caused by any event or circumstance which is beyond our reasonable control.

          • Nothing in this aforementioned Clause affects your statutory rights as a consumer.



          Care, inspection and handling of goods:

          • Wooden furniture will exhibit variations in colour, grain pattern and tone within individual pieces of furniture and between different items of furniture from the same range. This is not a fault but a natural characteristic of the material. Wood will also change colour as it ages. Again this is not a fault but part of the inherent characteristics of the material.

          • It is not unusual for wooden furniture to crack or split as the timber settles; this happens more frequently with waxed furniture and is completely normal.

          • Wooden furniture will swell in damp conditions and shrink in hot, dry conditions. The furniture we supply is not suitable for areas which attract strong sunlight and heat such as conservatories.

          • Waxed furniture requires regular wax treatments to preserve its appearance. The wax is merely a coating on bare wood, and as such the wood will exhibit shiny marks where the wax may have been rubbed. This is natural and unavoidable.

          • No wooden products are stain or heat resistant, although a lacquered product offers slightly greater protection

          • No refunds will be payable for damage caused by mishandling furniture, misuse of furniture or the application of unsuitable coatings, polishes or abrasives.


          Distressed furniture:

          • Customers are required to familiarise themselves with what is commonly understood by the terms ‘distressed finish’ and ‘distressed furniture’ before ordering such items. These terms mean the goods will exhibit a variety of imperfections to the surfaces, such as cracked, flaking or incomplete paintwork or lacquer, marks, gouges, splits or cracks to the surfaces or any other blemishes deliberately intended to create a worn, aged or re-used appearance.

          Special orders:

          • Goods which are ordered to a non-standard specification or variety or finish cannot easily be offered for resale, so they are classed as special order items. Customers who cancel a special order are liable for the costs incurred by Furniture Planet. This includes any carriage costs incurred or any charges made to us by the manufacturer.

          • All special orders are subject to a non-refundable deposit of at least 50% depending upon the type and nature of the order.  

          Returns Policy:

          • You may cancel your order at any time between the placement of the order and 7 days from the day after delivery.

          • Such products would have to be returned to us at your (Customer's) expense within 7 days of delivery to you.

          • Should you want us to collect the goods, you must contact our customer service department within 7 days of delivery to arrange collection. This collection will be at your expense.

          • Any money which you have paid will be refunded within 30 days.

          • Please note that full refund cannot be given in some cases of special orders as aforementioned in the 'Special Orders' section.

          • Mattresses can only be returned if they are unopened. Mattresses which have been opened and slept on cannot be returned. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you are sure you want to keep it.


          Privacy and Security:

          • Our payments are processed via the secure facilities of Paypal and we do not store any financial details of our customers for security reasons.
          • We are committed to protecting your privacy.

          • We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

          • We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.

          • This data is only used for the following purposes:

            • The processing and fulfilment of your order.

            • To give us statistics to allow us to improve your shopping experience.

            • The administration of the website and its facilities.

            • To keep you informed of special offers and products of interest to you at your consent.


          Use of Furniture Planet Website:

          • Furniture Planet owns the copyright and all other intellectual property of, or has the right to use and make available for purchase where relevant, all material on the site including but not limited to the text, graphics, logos and all other material available or downloaded through the site.

          • Any links to third-party websites if present are provided for information only and do not imply an approval or endorsement of the site. Furniture Planet shall not be held responsible for the contents of any linked site; and shall be under no liability arising from your use of these sites.

          • The site is provided 'as is' and without warranty of any kind to the extent allowed by the applicable law. Furniture Planet does not warrant that the Site is free of errors and/or omissions, worms, viruses, Trojan horses and the like. You are solely responsible for your use of the site and any materials contained therein.

          Variation of Terms & Conditions:

          • Furniture Planet reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time and without notice. You will be automatically bound by these modifications when you use the site, and should periodically read these Terms.

          General:

          • Neither party shall be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of its obligations if the delays or failure results from events or circumstances outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to strikes, lock outs, accidents, war, fire, reduction in or unavailability of power at the Furniture Planet premises or at the related manufacturing plants or machinery or shortage or unavailability of raw materials from a natural source of supply, and the party shall be entitled to a reasonable extension of its obligations.

          • Any notice required or permitted to be given by either party to the other under the conditions shall be in writing and in case of notices to Furniture Planet, addressed to the Furniture Planet at the registered office or in the case of notices to the Buyer, at the Buyer's address as provided to Furniture Planet.

          • The headings of the Clauses in these Conditions are intended for reference only and will not affect the construction of these Conditions.

          • No statement, description, warranty condition or recommendation contained in any catalogue, price list or advertisement or communication or made verbally by any of the Agents or Employees of Furniture Planet shall be construed to enlarge, vary or override in any way thereof any of these conditions.

          • The Buyer agrees to pay for any loss or extra cost incurred by the Seller through the Buyers instructions or lack of instructions or through failure or delay in taking delivery or through any acts or default on the part of the Buyer, its servants, agents or employees.

          • These terms and conditions and all transactions relating to this website are governed by English law and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. We do not accept amendments to these terms and conditions.

          • Additional terms and conditions may apply for prize competitions and we will make you aware of these.

          • These terms and conditions only cover Furniture Planet website. Any other sites linked to ours are governed by their own terms and conditions. We accept no responsibility or liability for the content or operation of websites which are not under our control. We are required by law to tell you that sales can be concluded in English only and that no public filing requirements apply.

          • Any typographical or clerical or other error or omission in any sales literature, quotation, price list, acceptance of offer, invoice or other document or information issued by Furniture Planet shall be subject to correction if required, without any liability on our part.

          • If any provision of these conditions is adjudged invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part the validity of the other provisions of these conditions and the reminder of those provisions in question shall not be affected.

          • If we are for any reason not able to supply the goods ordered by the Buyer then any sum paid by the you, the Buyer, will be refunded or re-credited to your account and we will notify you at the address given by you in your order and or vis electronic mail. The refund will be made as soon as is possible and, in any event, within 10 days of the reason becoming apparent and we will not obliged to offer any compensation for disappointment suffered.

          • Please note that postal costs for mailing the payment in the form of a cheque are to be borne by the Buyer and are not the responsibility of Furniture Planet.
